While pursuing his bachelor's degree in Communication at Kent State University in 2010, Michael was affectionately nicknamed "Big Stove" due to his immense height and penchant for cooking up epic beats( it was really his last name lol). It wasn't long before he made a name for himself on campus, captivating audiences with his unique blend of hip-hop, EDM, and Hip-Hop. After graduating in 2013, Big Stove took his talents on the road with Nerve DJs, a reputable DJ collective that exposed him to new opportunities and connections. With his infectious energy and unparalleled dance moves, he quickly became a sought-after entertainer for weddings, school dances, and even church events. Throughout his career, Big Stove has had the opportunity to share the stage with industry giants like Lil Uzi Vert, Playboy Carti, Kendrick Lamar, and The Chainsmokers. Not only has he wowed crowds with his signature style, but he's also made a name for himself as a mentor and advocate for the youth, often hosting and collaborating with local artists.
In 2023, Big Stove launched his own after-school program, B.E.A.T.S., to further support and educate inner city youth. He's also an accomplished author and graphic desiner, having worked with rising stars like Armani White. Since the summer of 2019, Big Stove has been living in Miami, FL, and holding down the fort as the resident DJ for Nomi Village, a trendy nightlife hotspot in North Miami. His high-energy performances, combined with his ability to connect with the crowd, have solidified him as a must-see act in Miami's bustling music scene. Outside of his DJ career, Big Stove is also a philanthropist, dedicating his time and resources to the Opioid Awareness Foundation and TSL Foundation, two nonprofits. OAF aims to provide music education and mentorship to drug free youth in Florida, and TSL aims to fight Diabetes.
